Brandon's Famous for her Leaf People

I can't believe fall is already here. Where did the summer go? Here in Brandon, we were so busy I didn't have time to write! The town saw about one major event each week and there is more on the way before the end of the year. For a town of 4,000 people, there is always something happening.

I've posted a couple of photos of our HarvestFest event held last Saturday. The Chamber of Commerce supplied the frames, clothes, accessories and expertise to help about 200 visitors make their own scarecrow and take it home.

Besides stick-figure-making, there were caramel apples, a BBQ, pumpkins, hayrides, and the Town Band. With peak foliage outside the front door, it was a perfect fall day.

Brandon is in the process of making a TV commercial which will air on WCAX-TV (Vermont's CBS affiliate) all summer. The ad is intended to let people know all about Brandon (which is hard to do in 30 seconds). We had lots of fun shooting the commercial, as you can see from the photos. Liza, Bruce and Mike "hammed" it up as best as possible while Producer Kerry and Cameramen Tim and Dan tried to keep us all in line! When the commercial is ready, we'll put a link to the footage on www.brandon.org
